moving chaos

Moved to new apartment on Wednesday. Nice place, needs a lot of attention, but I think it will turn out to be a very comfortable home. Major things that need to be worked out are: living room furniture (sofa, armchair, and coffee table), place to keep bikes, and keys that work.

Verizon f****d up, as predicted. I scheduled with them to move my phone number (landline) from old apartment to new one, but they neglected to tell me that I had to be home for them to set it up. So I won't have a landline til Wednesday morning.

Still haven't made plans for the Internet. We were leaning toward Verizon DSL, but based on my consistent sucky experiences with Verizon, I might be willing to pay the extra $10/month for service that's reliable. Opinions?

Happy things:
Sewing Room!
Bedroom with Three Windows.
Birds chattering away happily in the living room.
Walk-in closet (this after a closet that was not deep enough to hang hangers in).
Quiet little street, beautiful porch.
Geeky housemates who don't think I'm a Freak.
When this place is set up, which might take a while, it will be suitable for small dinner parties, games nights, and possibly even OPN. w00t!

It is on Craigie Terrace, which is right about where Elm St meets Somerville Ave. There are three houses on this little street, and we all seem to be yuppies who moved in within the last two weeks. The landlord lives just across the way.

Cat has two green parrots. Edgar (the girl-parrot) is friendly and likes to be petted. Claude (or is it Clawed?), the male parrot, has not yet let me anywhere near him. Supposedly they talk a bit, but so far all I've heard were twitters and squawks, often in response to stuff happening around the house, like crinkling paper bags, or a car alarm outside. I like the company.

The living situation and location are both great (though I kind of liked your old location :-))

DSL over cablemodem, eh? A few years back, that area was better suited for cm because of the physical distance from DSL providers, but I dont' know if that has changed.

Long time no see.. but that doesnt keep me from missing you. I'm still in TX and doing pretty well.... btw. theres an old friend I need to introduce you to...live in CT , her social life is in Boston.. you know how that is... I believe she was at one of those wonderful parties at Richenzas where I had to drive you home I recall...
