Things I enjoy when left to my own devices -- what I do to lower my stress level:
- lie in bed with an apple (cut neatly in eighths) and a book or crossword puzzle
- sew something easy and useful
- bike.. Ironically, although I tend to utter a prolonged string of curses at cars and pedestrians as I ride, biking almost always leaves me calm and pleasantly purposeful.
- fold laundry
- wash dishes
- watch a movie. I don't get to do this very often, but the right movie can change a bad mood into a good one.
- read LJ
- sleep :D

good tired
Nov. 2nd, 2004 05:03 pmToday was looking to be a slow day at the costume shop, so I left early.
I went home and put the sheets and towels in the wash. I biked up to Davis, found the DMV, and got a couple of guest-parking permits. Then I stopped at Goodwill on the way home and bought myself a red long-sleeved t-shirt. I came home, turned over the laundry, built a bookshelf (with Edgar sitting on my shoulder chirping and trying to French-kiss me :) ). I moved a bunch of stuff into the sewing room, making it look lived-in and almost useable. I retrieved dry laundry and made the bed. Now I am going to walk to Diesel, arriving earlier than usual.
My throat is still crispy, and I seem to have pulled something in my shoulder in the process of building that bookshelf... but I am Good Tired, the kind you get at the end of a long day in which you got a lot of meaningful stuff done. w00t!
