I must be in puzzle-solving mode already, because my brain decided it was important to figure out where those birds are. Current theory is: Peets Coffee in Harvard Square.
Oo, nope, not according to google images. Okay, let me think. It looks familiar, so I ought to be able to figure out what it is. This is gonna drive me crazy all night.
Okay, given the hint (Davis Square) and with help from majordomo, I have determined that it's the vendor in the T station: the letters are ES CO, from "smoothies coffee donuts muffins."
Thanks. :) I came downstairs from putting something in the attic and majordomo called me over to see that these squirrels were cavorting on our air conditioner. I can only assume it's because some of our nice warm indoor air is escaping.
