I was on my way to the fabric store when I noticed a new store behind the Market Basket. Upon closer inspection, I discovered it's an H Mart. I still didn't know what that meant, but it turns out it's an Asian supermarket with various Asian vegetables and other products I've never seen before, plus a food court, a bakery, prepared foods. Pickled daikon! Stir fried black beans! Giant oyster mushrooms! Much like Super 88, but it doesn't smell of strange fishes! w00t!

nice. you'll also be pleased to know that Super88 is tanking and being bought out. i read an article on it yesterday (macthud can give you the link if you want to, as i didn't save it). i can't recall whether H Mart was one of the potential buyers...

Has someone actually bought the Super88 chain, last I read they sold the stores to two different companies and now there's a legal battle over which of them actually bought the stores.

The owners of the Super 88 chain decided to invest in their home company of Vietnam, but it's costing way more than they expected to their attention (and money) drifted away from the Super 88 stores.

what i read said that two independent folks say they each bought one of the three stores and there is a lawsuit over it because another chain says that no, they bought all three remaining stores.
regardless of how it pans out, it seems like someone(s) new will come in and revamp.
