I don't actually speak Deutsch. Just a few useful words and phrases that I picked up on our trip last spring and haven't forgotten yet. Kartofel. Erdbeer. Oranjensaft. Spiegel, Spargel, Sprudel!

To me, there is only one necessary word to pick up in the local language where ever I go: coffee. Beer is a distant second.

OK, I eventually noticed that that was a Mystery Hunt reference. How'd y'all do?

(oonh mentioned that two teams that were forks of a big team [and which he's not on] have been alternating running and winning the last couple years, but beyond that I know nothing.)

My team (Central Services) wasn't among the top five, I don't think, but we did pretty well. We had fun in general, which I think is more important than comparisons to other teams. The important thing is to do well enough to open enough puzzles to keep everyone entertained.
