I could use some more blue jeans (or black, or green, or whatever) for sewing projects. I'm looking for fabric that's still in good shape but is part of a garment that's no longer usable -- if the crotch or knees have worn through but the backs of the legs are intact, I can use them. (If the jeans are wearable but you don't want them, then donate them to someone who will wear them!) Please make sure the jeans are clean -- although if they have paint on them I may still be able to use them. Comment here if you have jeans for me, and I'll make plans to collect them.

Date: 2009-03-01 11:19 pm (UTC)Are you still looking for jeans... I recently modified a pair beyond usability (ie too tight, sigh) and I have realized that I am now officially collecting worn out jeans, 'cause one pair is useful, but two is just takin' up space.
Silly to send them to Boston, perhaps, but the one pair is fabric-wise good, just beyond normal jean usage.

Date: 2009-03-02 03:13 am (UTC)Thanks for thinking of me -- I am still idly collecting denim, although I just finished the quilt top that I was planning when I made this request. However, getting them to Boston does seem to defeat the purpose of recycling them, so I say donate them to a thrift store there.
How's life? Still enjoying your work?
