I hadn't tried cropping it, but yes, it seems like a prime candidate. Makes it a little disorienting, in a good way.

Here's approximately the crop I'd suggest (done on my phone, so 3:2 aspect ratio is not exact):

As I was experimenting with cropping this shot, I figured out that in addition to the whimsy intrinsic to this shot, I really like how it has three different sets of parallel lines: left diagonal, right diagonal, and ~vertical.
