They look like they won't fit in the bowl, but I never would have thought they'd mostly fit on the board either. I bought one today already chopped up because K is more patient than I am with the thousand chops of a butternut squash. I think sauteed slices of white onion with boiled mashed squash this week.
The only preparation I've found in which I really enjoy butternut squash is pureed and cooked with oatmeal (and maple syrup and sweet spices), as a breakfast.
Wow, there's no accounting for taste. I love butternut squash. I eat the stuff baked, unadulterated, yum. And in soup. And with various spices mixed in. And instead of pumpkin in my pumpkin chocolate chip squares where they make it really fine.
