It's a metasequoia, growing on the campus of Smith College, behind Neilson Library. The interesting thing about this tree is that it's *enormous* at its base but then it tapers quickly and gracefully, perfectly straight up. It's not nearly as tall as the sequoias I've seen in California.

i never met a sequoia i didn't like :D

kinda thinking of planting a bunch of these, though i want cover too

also dawn redwood iirc. there's a nice one in Lexington near the mega magnolia (GIANT leaves, enormous flowers)
