Nice shot. LJ has decided that I can only see friends' 50 most recent posts, so I don't know about anything important in your life from more than 2 weeks ago, but I've enjoyed your New England pictures in what I could see.

Eh, you don't get much personal info from my photos here anyway. R stopped napping for a month, which threw my life into upheaval. Now sometimes she doesn't nap and sometimes she takes three-hour naps, but at least I'm prepared for the unpredictable. Last month I was in an "open studio" weekend (a misnomer, since it's 80 artists in one big building), and did really well. Now I have a bunch of orders (mostly skirts) to work on. And the weekend before last we went to Portland (Maine) to see my aunt, and I took a multitude of photos in the neighborhood around the B&B, mostly foliage, which you're seeing here. The birthday cake was hers -- I don't know what the significance of seven candles was -- more likely than not, that's how many little candle holders my mom could find when she was packing the supplies.

I'm glad the open studio was productive for you. We used to have a whole weekend of artist studio tours in Hoboken, but the past couple of years it has been only 6 hours on one Sunday. Even if I tried, I couldn't see more than half the artists per year. I have my favorites to look at and to buy from. If it is a useful thing like something to wear, I am more likely to buy something from someone new.

I think that's the key: half the population needs purses, so it's easy for them to buy the ones I make. It's harder to justify buying, say, a framed photograph or a sculpture make of color-changing LEDs.

We've been to Vermont Open Studios a couple of times, which is even crazier: it's the entire state, with craftspeople in barns spread out across the countryside! And they do it on a three-day weekend (Memorial Day and Labor Day, I think) but the event is only on the Saturday and Sunday. Go figure.

The friends feed, which includes all friends only goes back 50 posts. It used to go to 250. I am too lazy to click on each friend and go backward to the most recent already-read post.

Very nice. There's something about this one I particularly like.
