I would like...

...knitting needles (someone has already offered to lend me some, but a gift would be lovely). I'm thinking of teaching some first-graders to knit, so medium-sized is best.

...yarn that you don't want anymore -- particularly pink, green, red, and blue.

...to borrow a tape recorder (one which records tapes reliably).

...large glass or plastic jars, for making terrariums (terraria?). I'm thinking of the kind that cheezy poofs or pretzels come in when you buy them at BJ's.

...shoeboxes.

That's all I can think of right now.

Aw, that's so nice of you! I think I can get everything I need locally. If you have yarn that you really want to get rid of, you could send me that, but other than that there's no reason you should have to trek to the p.o. and pay for postage.

OK, I don't mind though! I'll be heading to the PO anyway for Christmas shipping, so another package won't be a big deal. This is just a little good deed I saw an opportunity to do... if you'd like some needles and/or yarn (all I have really is wool, mostly Lamb's Pride worsted and a bit of bulky, in different colors), I'm happy to share. Just send your addy if you'd like it... if you're already swamped, then no worries and happy holidays!

I'm negotiating with M when is a good time for him to come over and do puzzles with us, so you could send the yarn with him. I also would like to know whether it's possible for us to invite you over for dinner sometime in the near future. If not dinner, then some social occasion involving less food.

I have a reasonably large bag of acrylic yarn that did not get thrown away a couple of weeks ago when I was cleaning house, in case anyone I knew might want it. If memory serves, it is mostly green and red. You are welcome to it.

Somewhere around the house I have one of those tape recorders that uses mini-cassettes. I used to record press conferences with it but haven't used it in a number of years. If I can find it when I get home (later this week), you're welcome to have it.
