This one was a commission for a friend who lives in Montana, and I sent it to her last week. So it's unclear whether even *I* will see it in person again (though I hope someday to travel across the country by train, and if I do I will visit my dear Montanan friend).
Thanks! At first I was frustrated that I didn't have enough of the rainbow geometric fabric to make any complete stars, but when it was all together I decided I like how it keeps the eye busy trying to make sense of it.
I think the magic of this quilt is the rainbow geometric fabric, and I tried to track down more of it (it has a name printed on the selvage), the online vendors that once carried it were all out of stock. If I ever see it again (or anything else as wonderful), you can bet I'll buy a few yards, and I'd be happy to do a custom quilt for you. :)
Thanks. When I started the project I wished I had enough fabric to make complete stars, but I didn't, and now I'm glad it turned out more chaotic. Seems appropriate for a puzzler (this was a commission for Uncanny) -- even though it's not a puzzle, it still keeps your eye busy looking for patterns.
