I discovered Bill Harley when I was in third grade. He's a children's storyteller and songwriter, and he used to play at my elementary school (I imagine he still does). I still have "Monsters in the Bathroom," the first tape of his that I got.

Bill's stories about when he was in elementary school are hilarious and sad and so incredibly real. His songs are smart and funny and easy to sing along with.

And now I'm babysitting for a five- and an eight-year-old, and I've just bought three new albums, and we all listen together. I feel like a little kid!

Yippee! I'm also a big fan... if you ever want to get folks together to go see him perform, I'm definitely in!

Actually, the last (only?) time I saw him, it was an evening performance for adults (in the sense of older folks, not in the sense of raunchy stories...) -- the way all of the pieces inside each his stories -- both those for adults and those for kids -- connect together at the end is just phenomenal...

Your babysitees are definately in for a treat :-)

Can I suck them onto my iTunes someday? Monsters in the Bathroom is still the only one I have.
