Yesterday I went to the Boston Theatre Marathon. This is an entire day of short plays, generally about ten minutes long, presented in two studio spaces at Boston Playwrights Theatre.
The plays are written by professional and amateur playwrights. They are performed by professional and amateur actors. I bought a pass ($25) which entitled me to sit in the dark from noon until ten pm, savoring brilliant comedies, mediochre dramas, silly satires, absurdity. As I have a short attention span, I thoroughly enjoyed all but a couple of plays.
Okay, so I could have been out enjoying SPRING! but the Theatre Marathon only happens once a year. (Don't give me any comments about SPRING! only happening once a year, I don't wanna hear it. I enjoyed summer today, and am looking forward to spring again tomorrow.)
