It's okay to say I'm crazy. I knew I was crazy when I started this project, but I wanted to challenge myself.

That doesn't look like a Crazy Quilt.

It's not the quilt that's crazy, it's the quilter! :)

Beautiful! And it would make a lovely stained glass window.

Thanks! I've always wanted to make a stained-glass-window quilt. Maybe that'll have to be my next project.

Gorgeous. And I agree with [livejournal.com profile] hammercock, it looked even better in person!

Thank you.

One reason I've been learning photography is so I can document my work better, but with something like this (having so much black, and not being traditional dimensions), it's hard to get an accurate picture.

Fantastic! I love the whack & stack (or whatever the name is -- it's been a while) idea. And this just came out beautifully!

Thank you! I'd been wanting to do a stack-n-whack, and this was a wedding gift for a friend who loves mandalas (and her charming husband), so it seemed like the natural choice... until they requested the limited color palatte. :) I'd been told that you have to use busy fabric with a lot of colors for stack-n-whack, but it turns out that busy fabric with only a few colors also works.

I think it's perfect with busy patterns and limited colors. And what a job that must have been piecing that all together!

Piecing it was actually surprisingly fun; the more frustrating part was all the quilting I had to do to make all the wrinkles lie flat. The back of the quilt is covered with little black and white line-drawing mandalas.
