I'm planning to make blueberry corn muffins (the corn-muffin recipe with blueberries added), and blueberry cake (my grandmother's plum cake recipe but with blueberries in place of plums). But most of today's 13.5-pound haul is in the freezer, waiting for cream of wheat. Hot cereal with still-frozen blueberries is one of my very favorite foods.
These are from Tougas Family Farm in Northboro. I picked 13.5 lbs of blueberries there this morning -- I was aiming for the 15 lb discount, but once the sun came out it was immediately too hot to be out in the field.
They do have really amazing berries, big and sweet and plentiful. If you can, I recommend going on a Wednesday morning, since they're usually closed Monday and Tuesday, so you get berries that have been ripening undisturbed for two days.
