They're not edible. The only edible blue berries that grow in our climate are trueblueberries, usually on small bushes. They will always have crowns.

(You make me wish I was a better naturalist, M. I am so good at identifying most animals in our climate, but not great with plants.)

I went blueberry picking with my aunt in Maine this summer, but it was too late for blueberries so we picked huckleberries instead. They're closer to black, but I'd still call them bluish. And they're edible. :)
