I guess I picked up your lj from Squonk's friends page. I just went to your webpage. Your quilts are really, really gorgeous!

I almost started quilting a few years ago, and then realized that working full-time and raising 2 kids (1 of whom is on the spectrum) leaves one little time to learn to quilt. So instead, I started making quilt notecards with photos I liked. You might enjoy some of them; I posted a few here:

I hope we can make it to the next con too! The above-mentioned kids make it tough, but we'll see how it looks closer to the time next year. We certainly miss seeing everyone at con.

Oh, I LOVE your cards! I'm tempted to steal your ideas.

Quilting is one thing that keeps me sane. I'm not sure what I'd do if I couldn't make time to quilt.

There's some talk of having a childcare suite at next year's con, with babysitters hired with pooled funds (Qoz's kids might be on the babysitting team). You could help make this happen by emailing Geneal and Junebug, who are the mainstays of the planning committee, and adding your voice to the chorus of "we're more likely to attend if there's babysitting on-site!"

Thanks! And please feel free to steal my ideas. I'd be happy to send you the publisher files the images are formed from if you'd like to see the component shapes of the pieces. It is, as I'm sure you can see, the same piece repeated and rotated and layered. It came from a quilt I saw several years ago.

And thanks for the babysitting tip. I don't know if we could pull it off or not -- Ragnar is tough to babysit, but Janders isn't. But you are absolutely right that we'd be more likely to attend if a sitter were available.

The linings of these dresses are rigged with zippers so the technicians can get in to do the wiring: when they're done, they'll GLOW! :)
