Sunday in the Park with Martha

Mark your calendars -- it's the 6th annual picnic by the Charles River!

June 7th from noon-ish til dinnertime,
In the grassy area between Memorial Drive and the River, by JFK Street.

Bring food and drink, friends and family, games and puzzles, musical instruments, picnic blankets, frisbees and juggling equipment... but also feel free to join us if you're not bringing anything at all!

Please note that Mem Drive is closed to cars on Sundays in the summer.
I recommend one of these transportation options:
- Red Line to Harvard Square and walk down JFK St to the river -- or you can take the 66 or 86 bus.
- Park in a garage in Harvard Sq or nearby, and walk down JFK to the river.
- Bike, skate, or some other non-motorized vehicle.

Some attendees of picnics in past years may remember the Dragon Boat Festival, held on the Charles River slightly downstream from our picnic. I've just checked their website and it appears they are on
June 6th and 7th this year. I consider this a plus because of their food vendors and port-a-potties (not to mention the dragon boats themselves); the only minus is that the event makes parking even harder to find.

The raindate of Sunday in the Park is Sunday June 14th.

So I put an entry into my Google calendar for "Sunday In The Park With Martha" on the appropriate date. The event came up as "In The Park With Martha", and it auto-filled the location as "The Park With Martha". :-)
