The thing I love about this is that somebody else clearly shares me love for color A enveloped in color B right next to color B enveloped in color A. I wonder if there's a word for that...
I think yin-yang is closer to what I'm looking for, but I think of yin-yang as specific to the nesting paisleys inside a circle. The term I want could be applied to the situation in our dining room where the green plant in the maroon pot is sitting next to the maroon plant in the green pot. Or the mod dress I once saw in a shop window in Lenox, where the right half of the skirt was orange and the left half yellow, the right half of the bodice was yellow and the left half orange, and the collar's colors corresponded to the skirt.
