news of the weird (and the less weird)
Jul. 19th, 2004 11:18 amSaw All In The Timing on Friday night. I love David Ives, and I love seeing people I know playing characters who are nothing like the people I know (and characters who are kind of like the people I know).
ArtBeat was wonderful, I couldn't have asked for a better location (right outside the T on Holland St). Lots of people stopped by my table and complimented my work -- I saw more friends than I can count. I sold more bags and hats that I'd expected to (and a pair of origami earrings), and lots and lots of people took my business card.
My updated webpage is up: www.techhouse.org/mdp/martha
Sunday morning we went to Circus Smirkus. I miss the old gang of clowns, who have progressed to Ringling and other clownish adventures. This year's theme is Alice in Wonderland; my favorite act was the caterpillar, which is an aerial act involving a caterpillar emerging from a fabric cocoon, hanging in the air high above the ring.
Last night I had some old friends over -- a college friend I hadn't seen in three years, and a high school friend I hadn't seen in five. And new friends, and we ordered a crate of food from Punjabi Dhaba and we played Trivial Pursuit and Settlers. It was good.
I am exhausted. And happy. And I need a day off so I can do a crossword and clean my room.
