public service reminder

If you bike:
- Stay out of the door zone.
- Make sure your brakes are in good condition.
- Be visible and predictable.

If you drive:
- Use your turn signals.
- Check for bikes before changing lanes, turning, or opening your door.

(I am fine, just very glad my brakes work.)

/me hugs you and sympathizes

I wish there was some reasonable way to educate both cyclists and drivers. It would be nice if kids were taught how to bicycle in school (akin to drivers ed but more mandatory), because their parent's generation never learned and doesn't know how to teach them.

A friend of mine got pushed under a verizon truck. He is fine, but it took several surgeries and lots of time off from work to rest and recuperate.

I am glad that you are okay!

Sean is always amazed at how bad we are in this state at driving alongside bicycles. In the Boulder area it was never that way, he tells me.

I am relieved that you are alright!

I suspect the roads are wider in CO. Never been there, but when you're building a pioneer city (as opposed to a colonial one), you have a lot more space to work with. And a lot more snow to put in it. :)

It may be. Did you read about the baby boom that Colorado is currently experiencing? It's been about 9 months since that big huge blizzard.

Pretty soon someone will come out with a study claiming that snow increases fertility!
