I've been wanting to go see the Gee's Bend quilts at the MFA, and I'm running out of time. The museum is open Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 for free admission, and (correct me if I'm wrong) the quilt exhibition is included in that.

Therefore... I hereby announce an outing for next Wednesday August 3rd. We'll begin with dinner at Brown Sugar Cafe, 129 Jersey St, meeting at 6pm. Then we'll walk across to the museum and join the throngs.

a note on transportation:
I'm planning to take the T. Traffic is horrid at that hour, and I can't vouch for parking (though you can pay to park at the MFA). We can expect a wait at the restaurant, but if I know in advance how many we are, I can make a reservation.

I hope you'll be able to make it. My dad points out that there's a game that night, so we'll have to ride the end of the baseball wave at the restaurant, but it should work out all right.

Great! We might be competing with baseball fans at the restaurant (game's at 7:05), but that shouldn't get in the way of our art-geeking evening.

Looks like the Red Sox have a game at 7:05 that night. Given that, I don't recommend trying to drive in, or anywhere at all in Boston. Should still be okay for dinner at Brown Sugar, though: the Soxheads will be heading for their seats around the time we want their table at the restaurant.
