the shadow on a wall of an intricate, curvy object like an art-nouveau wheelchair

Last weekend we went to the Fuller Craft Museum to see the origami exhibit, and while we were there we also came across a show of the sculptor Michael Cooper. He makes graceful Art-Nouveau inspired chairs and vehicles of meticulously sculpted wood and metal. If you can get to this show (it closes May 13th), I highly recommend seeing his work in person.

The shadow above is of a vehicle called Soap Box Racer; you can see pictures of the sculpture itself on Cooper's website: go to the Vehicles section and find "3. Soap Box Racer" at the bottom of the page.

I love the play of light and shadow.

Me too. The shadow gets gradations of gray from layers of canvas in the sculpture.

Is there work by anyone we know (e.g. J9 Mosely?) at the origami exhibit?

Yes! I believe she has three pieces there (two of which I hadn't seen before).
