a bag with big gray-on-white mandalas

I asked at a local furniture store whether they had any fabric samples to give away. The lady emailed me a few days later and she had two garbage bags full of fabric for me! It included some lovely fabrics, like this gray-on-white mandala. I'll post a photo of the front as a comment.

Thank you! I loved the discovery that I already had this purple batik with mandalas that mimic the upholstery fabric.

Maybe an upholstery fabric purse will not start to fray so fast...

It's hard to know. The middle of the fabric would be more durable, but it's a coarser weave, so there's the possibility that the ends of the fibers would work their way free of my seams. I try to leave a little more fabric in the seam allowance on these, but I can't leave a lot or the bag just gets too bulky.
