That's what I thought, but I am not a mycologist, so wasn't going to take any chances. Still, the fact that someone had taken some already means that's probably what it was.

This was on a fallen tree in Arlington's Great Meadow -- by a wooded path, not far from the Minuteman Bikeway. But I saw it on Wednesday, so I'm betting that if it is indeed edible, it's all been claimed by now.
